Dutch language learning Guided self-study
Guided self study A2-A2/B1 I

Last Update:

This is a guided self-study course in which you are mainly in charge yourself. You prepare the lessons ( in advance), do the exercises and other tasks, written and spoken etc. Once a week there is a meeting with the teacher and fellow students for questions, remarks and conversations about designated themes.

On your way to B1, we offer you a great deal of vocabulary. All spoken and written texts will increase in length and difficulty.  Besides that, you will adapt grammatical and syntactical structures into your language practise: You will be the witness of your progress, by using the formal syntax, conjunctions, adverbs etc.  All this comes with a lot of rehearsing and the practical use in spoken communication. Because of the quantity and the necessary processing time, we offer you the A2-B1 route in two steps. This is the first one.

As stated before, you’ll have many conversations, because OnlineLingoAcademy considers this to be the key to your progress in language skills. You gradually develop your performance in Dutch to the level of ‘independent language user’. Your teacher will support you all the way.

This is a 3 weeks-course with 1 lesson of 2 hours every week. Total meetings: 6 hours

The lessons in a small group are limited to 8 course members,  on Mondays.

Nominal time-investment

At least 30 hours of studying time is recommended for rehearsing, training, conversations and general homework.

What Will I Learn?

  • De belangrijkste punten in een gesprek tussen anderen volgen en zelf iets (be)schrijven en zeggen over het onderwerp;
  • De belangrijkste informatie uit eenvoudig geschreven artikelen halen en daar kort iets over zeggen;
  • Een eenvoudig sollicitatie- of kennismakingsgesprek voeren en jezelf presenteren;
  • Een brief of e-mail schrijven over persoonlijke dingen, je eigen geschiedenis, je wensen e.d.;
  • De meeste besproken thema’s van een verslaggeving via radio, t.v. of internet volgen en deze kort weergeven;
  • Schriftelijk in hoofdzaken en met bepalende details weergeven, hoe je je voelt, wat er ergens gebeurd is, wat je daarvan vindt en wat dat voor anderen kan betekenen;
  • De meest voorkomende conjuncties, werkwoordstijden en – toepassingen, de notie ‘er’ en het gebruik, het relatief pronomen en de passieve vorm redelijk soepel gebruiken, waarbij inversie en de woordvolgorde nagenoeg volledig beheerst worden.
